Sarah Kate Price- Love Canal/Environmental Hazards

In your opinion are environmental hazards something we should be concerned about on a daily basis?
I think that it would be unreasonable for us to worry about environmental hazards every second of every day. However, I think that the prevention and management of environmental hazards should be a priority in out society as a whole and in our individual lives.

Why should we care about something that happened over 30 years ago?
It is important to understand the mistakes we have made in the past so that we can more effectively prevent them and remedy them in the future. That aside, many of the environmental hazards that happened 30 years ago, such as love canal, still affect us today because of their lasting  effects.

Environmental tragedies still exist today; what can we do today to mitigate these problems?
By raising awareness of our environmental problems, we can do more to solve them. When I posted the links on my profile, so many of my friends were shocked to see the magnitude and effect of these environmental hazards and they wanted to know what they could do to fix them. Education alone could make a huge dent in improving the reaction to environmental hazards.
