Love Canal-Rebekah Dickson
I also posted a video showing the oil spill disaster

How do environmental tragedies affect you on a daily basis?

1. Environmental accidents like this affect many facets of daily life. Because oil is such a prominent commodity in the world that drives our economy it affects prices for every mode of transportation including car, bus, plane, etc. As a result of this prices in our food, as well as any other necessities that need to be shipped normally increase in price. Finally, the stock market is also negatively affected and therefore almost all business owners are affected. If the reasons listed above aren't enough to prove why we should care about it we should at least think about how it effects the environment and the beaches that we love to swim and play on!

2.Environmental tragedies can effect the air we breath, the water we drink, a change in climate, the price or quality of food, or many other parts of our daily life. We should care about them because sometimes even our small efforts make a big difference, such as walking or carpooling to help the air quality. The more education we receive on such issues the more we can work together as a community to prevent or minimize their affects.

 3. The environment should be the first thing on our mind at all times. We only have one environment, and if we destroy it, then what are we going to be left with? Nothing. We need to keep tragedies like this from ever occurring again by being more conscious of how we treat the environment.

 4. The environment is really important to take care of because it affects everyone around you if you don't take care of it, not just you. The air and water quality can affect not only people, but animals and plants as well. Sharing is caring, so lets share a healthy environment, and share the effort of reducing pollution and your carbon footprint

5. Environmental accidents like this oil spill affect each of us because they cause the prices we end up paying to increase. For instance we pay more at the gas pump, the grocery store, and in taxes to clean up.

6. For me it's hard to think of environmental tragedies that effect me daily, because I don't know of any that happen besides the big ones that make the news. I guess that's the point though, and I think we should all be more aware of what's going on around us because there are things effecting us every day, such as pollution and air quality. We should care because it's our responsibility to keep ourselves and our families safe from harmful circumstances.
