Athletes= Public Health

Exercise, eating well, and an overall active lifestyle are big parts of living healthy. Athletes not only embody these components themselves, but their achievements and pursuits inspire others everyday to go out and get active and in shape. Especially our athletes here at BYU, who don't drink, don't smoke,and don't use performance enhancing substances. Most athletes know how important eating a well balanced diet and getting enough sleep at night is to keeping them healthy and performing at their best ability. Not only are they living healthy and improving their own lives, but their example only stands to lead and encourage others to do the same. To me, with out a doubt athletes not only represent, but in fact ARE Public Health.
