Seat Belts

Seat belts are public health!  It wasn't until I read the email from Professor Fugal about the top public health news stories and one was all about car accidents and then I realized how important seat belts are to public health.  Since public health is all about prevention it only makes sense that seat belts, which are a huge part of preventing injury during an accident, would be a part of public health.  Seat belts not only protect the wearer during a car accident they also protect the other passengers because they keep everyone safely in their seats.  This is public health because policies and laws have been made that require seat belts to be worn at all times in the car.  I'm a huge supporter of always "buckling up for safety" and you should be too!!!
