This bus stop is part of an organized public transport system. Organized Public transport, such as bus systems, with set drop off and pick up spots help to decrease accident rates by stopping at designated, clearly labeled points, that are easily recognizable by all on the road. The opposite of this would stopping at random points along a road, such as a taxi cap would do, which has potential to be dangerous as other drivers are not aware of when a car will be coming to a complete stop.
